Developing Your NNP: New Nature Program

"Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them." Is 43:7

We were made in God's image, for His glory. The believer and follower of Christ carries His own spirit living inside us. 1Corinthians 2:16 tells us we have the mind of Christ. This is miraculous and amazing news! It means we can learn to think, speak and interact like Jesus did. As we give the Holy Spirit room, we can become the new, unique individuals we were created to be. As someone who was healed from bipolar and borderline personality disorders, I can attest to this life-changing truth. Obeying the word of God has caused my mind to be literally, changed.

As we give the Holy Spirit room in our hearts, we also grant Him access to the reasoning, learning, and recalling part of us, our minds. Spending time in His presence and taking in the Word continuously, deposits the new nature program. Literal application of what we learn, runs it.

As I read, heard, and spoke what I learned from the bible, many changes began to take place. One profound change was in the area of my vocabulary. Using the word of God as my new "dictionary", I began to re-define the meaning of words I'd used my whole life. I developed a new nature language.

There were some key definitions I had to change, in order to practice and speak my new language. Through an updated vocabulary, I activated new neural pathways that think and respond as Christ did. Love was now synonymous with obedience. Fear was the lie against God's goodness. Faith was an action, not an emotion. Offense became a trap. Pride became dangerous. Gratitude brought peace. Worship was now, a weapon.

To run the new program, I attached physical acts to my new definitions. I paused before I spoke. I checked my self for any manifestations of fear, and released tension with exercise, stillness and sensory stimulation. I blessed people who hurt me with service or gifts. I made daily lists of blessings to record God's provision and miracles.I sang when I felt heavy or discouraged. I behaved like a new creature and it changed everything.

"For the Lord is the spirit, and wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2Cor 3:17

If you don't know Christ as Lord and savior, invite Him! Give Him full access to your heart, soul, mind and body and learn of Him. Discover what true love is. Surrender your whole life to Him to find freedom you've only dreamed of. He is worth it!

If you are a believer, ask the Holy Spirit to download your new nature language. Take in the Word as you do food, for daily strength. Run the program with updated information and active, continuous obedience. Cooperate with your devoted, faithful Teacher and experience power, love and your sound mind. In Jesus' name.
